"Grey Still Life"
Oil painting
Born in 1982, Kendric took to the love of books early in life.  He planned to be a professional writer and thrill the world with tales of deep human meaning and ponderous philosophy.  With an eye on that goal, he majored in English literature at Sewanee, the University of
the South, but eventually realized that while he loved the field of study, and while the idea of being a writer had a certain glamour, the idea of actually writing for a living had absolutely no appeal to him.

A period of soul-searching ensued, during which he ran off to work in Japan.  While there, he settled on the pursuit of his other great love: the visual arts, which he had not previously pursued with professional intent.  He enrolled in the Savannah College of Art and Design, studying painting there for two years, before transferring to the Florence Academy of Art in search of a more classical grounding.

"As a graduate of the Florence Academy, having studied at both its primary campus in Italy and branch campus in Sweden, I have not forgotten my earlier interest in the literary arts, My works draw from both the classical tradition, exploring themes from mythology and history, as well as more modern traditions."
